Collection of Information
epubtest.com collects personal information (such as your name, email address, street address, and/or telephone number) through our Web site only if you choose to provide that information to us.
epubtest.com asks you to provide certain personal information when you register as a user of the Web site, which is required in order to contribute content to the Web site. The only information required to register with the Web site is your name and email address; other information is optional and can be provided at your discretion. This information is used for the following purposes:
- To differentiate users from one another and associate registered users with the content they have contributed.
- To provide easy access to password protected areas of the Web site.
Your name and email address is also collected when you send an email, or fill out the contact form, in order to contact epubtest.com.
Like all Web servers, the epubtest.com Web server automatically creates log files for each visitor who accesses the site. These "access logs" allow us to make our site more useful to our visitors and to track possible abuse. The access logs do NOT record a your name, address, phone number, credit card numbers, or any other personal information. Rather, they contain some or all of the following information:
- The Internet Protocol Address (IP Address) of the machine which accessed our Web site.
- The date and time of the visit.
- The browser being used (which usually includes information about the operating system and version).
- A list of files downloaded or viewed.
- Any errors encountered.
Any time you are "logged on" to the Web site your epubtest.com username (and thus any personal information provided) can be associated with the data listed above. If this is a concern, you should only login as needed to access password-protected areas.
epubtest.com uses "cookies" to allow a user to remain logged in from page to page and to provide a customized interface that enhances the user's browsing experience. If acceptance of cookies is not enabled in your browser, you will be unable to access certain areas of the Web site.
A cookie is a string of characters that is written to a file on your hard drive when you visit a Web site. Only the Web site that created the cookie can read it, and it can only be used as a record keeping device to store information that the site already has. It cannot, for example, be used to read other information from your hard drive.
Use of Information
The use of personal information is limited to the following: responding to emails; sending communications from epubtest.com; other internal epubtest.com purposes; and other purposes that will be specified at the time the information is collected.
